Christmas!!!

We had an awesome Christmas in Boise with the Bronner family this year! Here's Zoë enjoying one of her new "Little People" toys. Notice she put the pig in the driver's seat :)

Aaron with his new friend.

Me and my sweet girl!

Zoë enjoying Uncle Jason's Christmas songs.

Brotherly love!

Zoë and cousin Daphni admiring each other.

Tea party anyone?

Zoë not sure if she's going to get in trouble for grabbing the ornaments - don't worry, she didn't :)

Aaron's Birthday!

Aaron with nephews Andreas and Matias. Getting ready to dig into birthday cake!

As usual, Aaron's birthday is pretty hectic since it's on Christmas Eve, but I think he had a great day. Benny and Sabrina were in town for Christmas (Sabrina's parents live in town), so they went out to lunch with us and then on a walk. So glad we got to see them!

Aaron got a special birthday hug from our nephew Matias :)

Catch up!

Apparently life has been busy and I've forgotten to update the blog for everyone! Here are a few pics to catch you up:

Zoë in her Thanksgiving dress

Us with cousins Ella, Emilia, and Rose and Aunt Noël. We had a great time in Moscow for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Zoë is going through a clingy phase and was getting over a cold so she wouldn't let anyone but Mommy hold her. Sorry all you aunts, uncles, and grandparents. I promise she loves you and will let you hold her next time :)

Uncle Joey and Aunt Noël made it down to Boise this fall to see us and for Joey to crush the competition in the finals of the Southern Idaho Cyclocross Series! He and Louie both raced last weekend in the national championships and did awesome! Congrats to you both - you are amazing!

This has already been a snowy year in Boise! Here is Zoë watching the snow fall for the first time.

When Aaron took her out in it, she was very cautious about it and was not sure she wanted to touch it.

Here's Zoë "helping" me decorate the tree. I love her saggy little buns :)

Halloween 2010

Aaron and I have an annual pumpkin carving contest, and here's what we came up with this year. I'm not sure who won since we both say the other person should win (that doesn't happen very often!).

Here's our little dragon (we taught her to make a dragon sound to go with the outfit)

and our little giraffe!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Fountain!

Zoë had a blast with Grandma Andrea and Grandpa Steve this weekend! She had so much fun celebrating her birthday with them and Grandma and Grandpa Bronner! Here are some pictures from the rest of the weekend:

We had a fun day at the zoo! Here they are in front of the monkeys who were being very loud. It was a cooler day, so all of the animals had energy to be active and show off for us!

Zoe loved the giraffes!

Mom and Dad rockin' out to Guitar Hero and let me tell you, they had great moves!

Zoe in her car seat after being entertained by Grandma on the way up to the cabin.

Zoë Turns 1!

Our baby is a year old! Here are a few of the highlights from her birthday!

Showing off how big she is (and brushing her teeth at the same time)!

Playing at the park!

Walking in her adorable party dress! Zoë has become quite good at walking and is my little shadow these days :)

My first attempt at cake decoration.

Both sets of Zoë's grandparents were here for the big day. She's a lucky little girl!

Digging in!

In desperate need of some water!

After being wiped down. Loving the new look thanks to her frosting hair gel.

Us with our birthday girl after she finished opening all of her presents.

Cabin!

We have some very exciting news!!! We just bought a lake cabin! It's at Lake Cascade (about 2 hours from our house and right across the lake from Tamarack Ski Resort). Aaron and I both LOVED our grandparents' lake cabins and have so many great memories there. We can't wait to start making memories for Zoe at our new getaway! Come visit for a summer weekend at the lake or a winter ski trip!

City of Trees 1/2 Marathon

I am very happy to say that I finished my 2nd 1/2 marathon yesterday!!! I set a goal for myself to complete a 1/2 within a year of having Zoë and I made it with a few weeks to spare! I was feeling like I would be quite a bit slower for this one, but was only 2 minutes behind, finishing in exactly 2 hours. Here is a picture of my friend Niffer (this was her first 1/2) with Zoe and me just after finishing.

Portland Trip

Aaron had an Optometry conference in Portland last week, so we had a good excuse to head over and catch up with friends and Benny and Sabrina.

My friend, Nicole, went above and beyond (as usual) and had a birthday party for Zoe (a month early). Zoe wasn't quite sure what to do with the cake at first, but then got the hang of it. I'm sure she'll acquire a sweet tooth before long :)

Zoe admiring pretty Aunt Sabrina

So glad to have more time with Benny and Sabrina! Wish we could hang out with them more.

Zoe checking out Uncle Benny's teeth.

Zoe met some new baby friends while we were in town. These are babies of Aaron's optometry classmates. Finnegan (7 months old) and Brooke (just 2 weeks younger than Zoe).

These are the babies with their mommies (Tiffany and Annika). It was great to see our friends from school again and fun to meet their new additions!

Guess Who's 11 Months Old?

Zoë!

Zoë's not too fond of sitting in the chair for these pictures any more.
She also doesn't think we need the sign to show how old she is.Zoë continues to be the best baby ever! We are having so much fun watching her learn new things each day. She has recently learned how to click her tongue and took 2 steps by herself. She's also testing out what she can and can't bite and when I say "no biting" she responds by sticking her tongue out and blowing (as seen below).

Zoë has 3 Halloween costumes this year, but this one is a little snug, so she gets to wear it early. Isn't she the cutest giraffe you've ever seen?

Zoe looking very interested in whatever her cousin Daphni just found to eat.

The Dirty Dash!

Some friends and I participated in Boise's 1st annual Dirty Dash this morning and we had a blast! It was a 10K mud run/obstacle course which consisted of trying to run up steep hills, climbing over piles of hay bails, crawling through tunnels, running up yet another hill covered with tires, climbing over walls, diving down an enormous slip and slide, and crawling through a giant mud pit. Very fun and very dirty!

Dang! I just tried to upload a video of us trudging through the mud pit, but it doesn't look like it's going to work. I'm sure you can picture it though :)
